I just read on the Journier blog that Journier is not going to have any further development! Apparently the developer is having financial issues. Anyone have any more information? Seems like a great app like this should have a buyer out there...

They don't... apples to oranges. Circus Ponies excels as a trial notebook or litigation notebook. Journler works great as a catch-all. The filtering mechanism, among other things, is a big difference. All around, Journler is great at slicing and dicing data/entries whereas Circus Ponies is more for hierarchical organization for quick reference when you need. Think of Journler as your army and CIrcus Ponies as the sharp shooter.

Ben

I enjoy your posts when you get to them.

All the Wordpress experts recommend changing your permalinks to "pretty permalinks", supposed to help Google and SEO - although that may not be too much of an issue for you.

In Site Admin > Settings > Permalinks > Day and Name, not "default".

No need to post this comment.

No, and it is not recommended to try doing so. In fact, if you are using Dropbox or some other method to sync Journler across different Macs, you must only open one instance of Journler at a time or else there will be data corruption.

Is it possible to share the database so that several users can work on projects at the same time?

Primary difference is DevonThink uses a proprietary structured database format. Journler uses a file folder format which can be accessed independent of the software. That means that the information is accessible even if Journler disappears tomorrow, but not necessarily so for DevonThink.

I have just started loading a vast array of .pdf's, .doc's, jpg's, and just about everything else into DevonThink Pro. This looks very similar to Journler, and I'm wondering if anyone has compared these two. I'd like to know what differences there are between them.
